After several years of previews, name changes, and brief location tests, DANCERUSH STARDOM launched in Japanese arcades in late March 2018. The Japanese-owned Round1 chain of arcades has announced plans to bring the game to US locations in Summer 2018.
The game supports Konami's e-AMUSEMENT login system to track player performances.
Cabinet Design
The arcade cabinet has a large dancing stage, fully backlit with a RGB display that can display graphics and react to the players steps. Unlike DDR or other dance games with stages, inputs are not detected by pressure on discrete panels. Instead, the surface functions like a touch screen, detecting contact from the player's feet anywhere on the stage.
The cabinet also contains a webcam above the screen which records full-length videos of performances which can be shared through a mobile app afterwards.
